no success in business…

I know that I’m starting this from a potentially (probably hugely) flawed premise, but let’s just run with it.

Assumed: Men that are very successful in business often times are less than successful at home (i.e.: broken marriages, children that are a terror, etc.).

Most of the time, people assume the family is a mess because of the business. What if, in some situations, it’s the other way around? Isn’t it equally possible that the family itself is so unimaginably horrible that the man throws himself full tilt into the business?

Why do we automatically assume the former when it could just as easily be the latter? Well, at least I assume the former…

    You’re such a hopeless romantic.

what I’m really going for is this (but don’t tell anyone): I put the idea in people’s heads that I’m actually successful with my family precisely because I suck at business.

See? See what I did there? Yeah…

Oh, so you’re invertly saying that you suck at business BECUASE you’re successful with family…
it’s as good an excuse as any.
